Information about Evaluations and Reevaluations
During the 2020-2021 School Year
As you may know, the assessments for Initial Evaluations and Reevaluations were delayed last school year due to the inability of staff to work directly with students (as directed by Gov. Wolfe's closure of PA Schools in response to the COVID pandemic). At this time, the assessments for evaluations are resuming. If your child was previously set to have a psycho-educational evaluation/reevaluation with assessments, you will be contacted by the school psychologist (Cristy Rice), the Director of Special Education and Student Services (Tracey Quigley-Jones) or the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special Ed/Student Services (Carol Barnes), so that a time for carrying out the assessments may be set up. These appointments will be set up ahead of time for virtual learners. Blended learners will also be assigned set times for assessments and these may occur when the student is in school and/or (possibly), on Tuesdays and Thursdays, if parents are interested in bringing their child into school on the virtual learning days.
--At this time (when the district is at a level 2, or if we would progress into level 3), the policy of the school district will be to hold all meetings for Initial Evaluations and Reevaluations virtually, via Zoom (or other meeting platforms such as Skype, etc.).
--Precautions - The precautions being taken at this time include, but are not limited to: A Plexiglas divider being used between the student and examiner (whenever possible), a mask must be worn by the student and will also be worn by the examiner, all pencils and (when possible) other assessment items will be “one time use”, so that no pencils or etc. are shared between students, and we are carefully cleaning frequently.
- **Please Note** - If you, as a parent/guardian, are NOT comfortable with your child coming in to work on the assessments at this time, please simply let us know by contacting Cristy Rice, Carol Barnes or Tracey Quigley-Jones at the contact points shown below, and we will arrange paperwork to postpone the assessments until you are comfortable with them being carried out.

My name is Cristy Rice and I am the school psychologist for the Camp Hill School District. I work with students in all of the buildings, Kindergarten through 12th grade. I conduct Initial Evaluations and Gifted Evaluations, serve on the SAP Team (Student Assistance Program Team) for the middle and high schools and on the MTSS Teams (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) for the elementary schools. I also assist with Reevaluations, Behavior Plans, 504 Plans, the PBIS Teams (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) for all of the schools and I am also available to provide Teacher and Parent Consultation on a variety of topics. At times, I carry out some small group Interventions, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (Counseling).
I VERY Much enjoy working with ALL of the
Students, Teachers and Parents in the
District! Camp Hill is a Wonderful School District
set within a Fantastic, CARING
and Supportive Community!
