Volunteers

Volunteer Clearance Requirements

Volunteers are always needed and welcome at Camp Hill schools. The clearances listed below, as regulated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, are required to be on file with the district before an individual is permitted to volunteer. For instructions to obtain each clearance, click on the link to the left.

  • Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)

  • State Criminal History Check (Act 34)

  • Federal Criminal History Check (Act 114)
NOTE: Volunteers who have been continuous residents of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years may submit a Camp Hill School District Volunteer Verification Form in place of the Federal Criminal History Check.

  • Volunteer coaches, chaperones who accompany students on overnight trips, and volunteers spending ten (10) or more hours per week in direct contact with students are required to submit the results of a recent tuberculosis (TB) test to the administration office along with their clearances. The TB test must be completed within 90 days of submission to the district.

Volunteers are responsible for obtaining current clearances and submitting either electronic or hard copies to the district.  Clearances are valid for 60 months (5 years) and must be submitted as a set.  The expiration date is based on the date of the oldest clearance on file with the district. If submitted in person, please include your contact information and if you are volunteering for a certain department, club or event.

Volunteering is not permitted until all clearances are on file with the district. All required clearances must be submitted at the same time.

How to Submit Your Clearances

Electronic (scanned/photographed) copies of clearances may be submitted electronically to Lauren Russell, Director of Human Resources, at lrussell@camphillsd.k12.pa.us.

Hard copies of clearances may be submitted in person to the District Administration Building (418 South 24th Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011). Clearances must be submitted as a set. Copies of clearances are kept on file and the originals are returned to you. Original clearances should be kept for your personal records.
