Past Events
The Community Advisory Council for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion organizes a number of events that promote inclusion, enhance equity, and teach service and mutual respect.
We have hosted “Meet and Greet” events at Cornerstone Coffeeshop, Training in Tabletop Games to benefit neurodiverse students, and a Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day in which students and community members donate toiletries for local charitable organizations and create cards for Caitlin's Smiles and local assisted living facilities.
In February 2024 and 2025, the CAC partnered with Camp Hill School District to host an essay and artwork contest in celebration of Black History Month. Nearly 200 students have participated in the contest over the last two years. The entries judged the best creative work and essays were specially recognized at a School Board meeting in March.
In May 2025, in partnership with the District, we held the inaugural Camp Hill Community Cultural Heritage Fair at the Camp Hill Middle/High School cafeteria. The fair offered a vibrant showcase of cultural backgrounds through engaging activities, live performances, delicious food, and educational exhibits. It’ was a fun and meaningful way to learn more about the many cultures represented in our Community. Students were provided passports representing each of the countries and cultures involved. There were 29 countries, including cultures represented by: Dominican Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Germany, Greece, Nigeria Igbo, Nigeria Yoruba, Irish, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, Morocco, Nepal, Palestine, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Sudan, Switzerland, Uganda, and Uzbekistan. The fair was free and open to the public and gave a unique opportunity to take a cultural journey!
