CAC for DEI Application to Serve

The mission of Camp Hill School District’s Community Advisory Committee for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (CAC for DEI) is to secure a welcoming and respectful environment for students and families; deepen understanding among students, staff, and parents about our community’s diversity; learn about the needs and challenges of students and families wherever they may lie; and advise on strategies, initiatives, and events that promote the health, welfare and success of students. The CAC plans initiatives and hosts events to foster understanding, encourage empathy, and bolster a sense of belonging.

Some of the group’s recent initiatives have included the Lion Connection program to support new families acclimating to the School District, an annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day for CHSD students and families, "Living the Dream: It Starts with Me" essay and artwork contest in celebration of Black History Month, Training in Tabletop Games to Benefit Neurodiverse Students, and Community "Meet and Greet" events.

The CAC for DEI rotates in a cohort of six members from the Camp Hill community to serve a two-year term beginning every January. Applications for those two-year terms are accepted during the month of November. Although the current application window is closed, the CAC seeks to fill positions that go vacant during the calendar year. We will use this webpage to request applications. If you are passionate about fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment in our school district, please consider applying.
