Welcome to First Grade!
Dear Boys and Girls,
Welcome to first grade! I am so excited to have you in my classroom this year! Our classroom is upstairs and is number is 203. I know we will have a great year!
I hope you are having a nice summer. I have really enjoyed my summer with my family. I have a son who is 9 years old. This summer we did some fun things together. We spent some time taking walks and swimming. I also spent a lot of time reading on my back porch, my favorite place to be!
When you come to school on the first day, (Monday, August 27th) I will be in the gym to meet you and show you to your new classroom! Look for the sign “Mrs. Catalano”. There will be plenty of adults there to help you!
I am excited to get to know you and your family! Please see the schedule for Back to School Night below.
I am looking forward to a great school year! I hope to see you on the 23rd at Back to School Night! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Your child will need a 2 pocket folder to use as a take home folder for this year. You may also want to send in ear buds/headphones for your child to keep at school or in their backpack to use when we have computer time. If you send them into school, please put them in a baggy with your child's name on it. Students may also have water bottles to keep on their desk. They should be sports type kind or one with a flip straw so they will not spill. If your child is packing lunch, you may want to get a lunch box or bag. If your child is buying lunch or a drink, you can create an account. You may also send in $ for that day's lunch or drink. Information is located on the district website. We will be having a daily snack around 9:30. Your child will need to bring in his/her own snack. Please make it a healthy snack.
If you would like to donate any of the items listed below for the class to use during the school year, just send them to school at any time.
- Hand sanitizer for class to share
- Gallon Zip-Lock baggies
- glue sticks
- a box of Cheerios for students who forget their snack
