Daniel D. Serfass, Superintendent

Dan Serfass has proudly served as the Superintendent of Camp Hill School District since April, 2021. Prior to assuming the superintendency, he served as the Assistant Superintendent at Elizabethtown Area School District where he also previously led the High School as their Principal. While at Elizabethtown, Dan skillfully led the school district in all aspects of education. As the High School Principal, his leadership and high expectations for student learning and growth successfully facilitated exceeding the goals of the district’s comprehensive plan. Dan’s leadership fostered a positive, student-oriented learning environment that was emotionally, physically and socially conducive for students to flourish.
Dan has also meritoriously served our country’s military-connected youth as the Principal of Schools in Germany, Spain, and Italy. He successfully led each of these United States Department of Defense (K-12) public schools that serve the children of our military personnel stationed overseas. Further, he has served as Assistant Principal at Hershey High School in Derry Township, PA and Radnor High School in Wayne, PA. He taught civics, naval science, physical education and coached various athletic teams at William Allen High School is Allentown, PA and The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA prior to transitioning into public school administration.
Dan is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics. He was awarded a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University in 2005 and a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from California University of PA in 2019. Other post-graduate degrees include a Master’s in Management from Troy University in 1996, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Shippensburg University in 1993, which he earned while studying for one year at the United States Army War College in Carlisle, PA.
Dan is a retired United States Naval Officer. His twenty years of service to our country culminated with leadership tours of duty as a commanding officer and chief staff officer of major commands. During his career he trained countless men and women in the performance of their skilled trades while sustaining exceptional rates of organizational mission accomplishments.
Dan is grateful to serve as the Superintendent of Camp Hill School District.
