Gifted Education

Camp Hill School District offers the following continuum of services designed to meet the needs of our gifted learners, with a focus on providing opportunities for acceleration, enrichment, or both.

In adherence to PA Regulations for Gifted Education, the Camp Hill School District supports a multiple criteria method for identifying eligible students who may be gifted. Teachers, parents, school counselors, a school psychologist, administrators, and other individuals at the parents' request are involved in the process. The process includes a review of classroom performance and school records, use of rating scales and parental input, and evaluation by school psychologist and multidisciplinary evaluation. All students in the gifted education program demonstrate a need for specially designed instruction.  For more information about gifted screening, please review the Gifted Program Screening tab below.

Parents who suspect that their child is in need of specially designed instruction beyond that required in 22 Pa. School Code Section 4 may request in writing their child be evaluated under the criteria of 22 Pa. School Code Section 16.22.  Questions regarding gifted screening, evaluation, and services should be addressed to Ms. Autumn Reely, Director of Student Services and Special Education, at areely@camphillsd.k12.pa.us, or Dr. Cristy Rice, District School Psychologist, at crice@camphillsd.k12.pa.us.
