Technical Construction I

Course of Study

This course is designed to be primarily a hands-on course that will focus on the use of tools and machinery to create projects.  The course includes lecture material which needs to be understood before students will be able to perform operations in the lab.  The first several weeks will be spent on safety.

First year students will complete several required woodworking projects.  All other projects must be approved, include plans/cost prior to beginning. 

Grading

Students must successfully complete safety tests for each stationary machine in the shop.  Student grades will come from their tests, written assignments, projects and their work habits.  Students will also be given a clean-up job.  Failure to complete this job will result in a loss of points at the end of each marking period.
