National History Day is a contest centered on original historical research. Students spend the year researching a topic of their choice and focused on their historical interests. They can then decide how they want to present that research from five different categories: written paper, documentary, website, physical exhibit, and performance. Students then take their finished product and compete against other students from the region for a chance to move on to the state and national competitions with chances to win cash prizes and scholarships.
