1st Grade & 2nd Grade

  • I am a co-teacher with your students regular education teacher and will have the ability to post assignments specifically for each individual student. Feel free to modify your student's work as you see fit. For this week I will be telling you 3 different ways that you can modify and accommodate your student's work to meet their needs.

    1. You can eliminate answer choices so that your student only has 2 or 3 answers to choose from

    2. Give your student extra time to work. If you can see they are getting frustrated with a particular activity, take a break. A good rule of thumb is 3-5 minutes of work and 1-2 minutes of break time.

    3. For math you can provide your student with manipulatives to help solve problems. Get creative! You can use any household item as a math manipulative (pasta, silverware, shoes, etc.).

I am available via e-mail to answer questions and help you navigate.

Starting next week I will provide your student with individual work geared toward the reading program we were using before the closure.
