College and Career Readiness Events and Opportunities

  • The following information is dedicated to promoting internship, career, leadership and educational opportunities to the students of Camp Hill School District.  Such experiences are intended to enhance student exploration of educational and career pursuits related to their interests. Information on this page will be updated as new opportunities are made available. Please see the Career Readiness Opportunities file for more information on programs available throughout the year.

    Current Events/Opportunities:

    College and Career Readiness Panel Discussion:  Exploring Non-Traditional Careers in Sports

    A collaboration with Urban Affairs Coalition and the Philadelphia 76ers.

    In this 44-minute video presentation, representatives from the Philadelphia 76ers organization explain to high school students how to gain information, access, and representation to help students define what they want to do throughout their career.


    Career-Related Programs

    • Inspired Nursing
      • August 14, 2020 - 8:00-10:00 a.m. offered virtually via Zoom webinar
        • Registration through EventBrite is required by August 5.
      • “‘Inspired Nursing’ highlights the diversity of roles and opportunities that exist in nursing. The event begins with a brief, required training presentation regarding protecting patient privacy and confidentiality. Then an introduction about Penn State Health is included and will be followed by presentations by nurses practicing in a variety of roles and clinical areas.”


    USA Science and Engineering Festival- Sci-Fest All-Access

    • Attendees of all ages can engage with sponsors and exhibiters to experience 100+ virtual STEM activities.  This free virtual event will be a graphical depiction of the live Festival to include exhibitor booths, pavilions and lounges with demonstrations, games videos and more.
    • The event will be held in September.  Register to receive updates and details.


    Discovery Education Virtual Field Trips

    • Discovery Education takes students behind the scenes to experience a wide variety of careers.  Learn about STEM careers in the NBA, engineering safe driving in cars of the future, copper mining, and more.

      • Paying for College 101- daily articles and questions answered by experts and mentors.  Trainings and webinars offered on college admissions.
      • College Talk- provides parents with tips and strategies related to financial aid.
      • How to Find Merit Scholarships- group shares merit scholarship opportunities and how to find schools with generous financial aid and merit scholarships
      • How to Win College Scholarships- list of scholarships, how to search for scholarships, helps with scholarship applications and the scholarship process.
      • College Essay Guy- explores everything students need to know about the college essay, or personal statement through essay samples and podcasts
      • College Connections Educational Consulting Services- college advice, current articles in the news and forum for students and parents to ask questions


    PULSE 2020:
    Penn State College of Medicine is now accepting applications to the PULSE 2020 Program. PULSE aims to increase interest in medicine and healthcare by introducing high school students to medical topics through lectures, facilitated small group learning and interactive activities. The 2020 topic will be Adolescent Medicine. PULSE flyer and application information can be found below in files. Questions can be directed to Mrs. Doi.   

    Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union #520 is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 Apprentice School Year. This is an "Earn While You Learn" opportunity. Application packets may be found online at under Training Department, then Apprenticeship. For more information, see the flyer below. 


    Apprenticeship Program at ABC Keystone is a combination of classroom instruction and on-the-job training.  Earn college credit and receive an apprentice wage while gaining work experience in trades such as Carpentry, Electrical, Construction, Heavy Equipment Operator, HVAC, Plumbing & Sheet Metal.  See the brochure below for more information.
