U. S. Naval Academy Parents’ Club of Central Pennsylvania is sponsoring a bus trip to the Naval Academy on Saturday, March 28, 2020, for interested students and their parents. The cost is $95.00 per person which includes transportation, an admissions presentation, Q & A with current midshipmen, guided tour, and lunch. The PA Governor's School for the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University is now accepting applications from current high school juniors for the summer 2020 program. PGSS is an intensive, 5-week summer residential program (June 28 - August 1, 2020) which emphasizes cooperative learning and hands-on laboratory research for 56 talented high school juniors pursuing careers in science and mathematics. The goal of the program is to encourage Pennsylvania's youth to pursue careers in STEM-related fields, and accepted applicants will receive a full scholarship to the program. Completed applications must be submitted online no later than January 31, 2020. School counselors and teachers must be notified no later than January 10th to allow time to respond with letters of recommendation, transcripts, etc. For additional information about the program and to complete an application, visit the Governor's School for the Sciences website at http://sciences.pa-gov-schools.org/
