Welcome to Media!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Strout, and I am thrilled to be teaching media at Hoover and Eisenhower Elementary. I come from Central Dauphin School District, where I taught for 18 years, as both a fifth grade teacher and a librarian. I was born and raised in State College (Go Lions!), and attended Pennsylvania State University for one year, then graduated from Shippensburg University. I have earned graduate degrees from Penn State and Shippensburg University.
My husband and I love dogs, and have rescued three dogs over the past 10 years. We currently have two "boys" named Barney and Mikey. Mikey is a beagle and Barney is a corgi/beagle mix. Along with taking my dogs for walks, I love to engage in other outdoor activities. I enjoy running, biking, kayaking, hiking, and swimming. I also am a member of three book clubs, love to watch movies, and try new restaurants. During the summer, I try to travel as much as possible. This summer, I was fortunate enough to visit Maine.
As mentioned above, I will be servicing both Eisenhower and Hoover Elementary. I will be at Eisenhower in the morning and Hoover in the afternoon. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding the library/media.
