Hello Class of 2024!!  As you are looking forward to beginning your senior year, the Counseling Department would like to remind you of some items you may want to consider during this time, whether you are planning for college, an apprenticeship, specialized training, or entering the workforce after graduation. In deciding your next step, consider what career field(s) you are interested in, look at what education/training options are needed/wanted, and begin researching options to help you decide what path you want to pursue. Some tools to help you with your research include:

• Naviance- Information on self-discovery, resume building, career options, post-secondary training/education, apprenticeship programs, military, college search, scholarships. https://student.naviance.com/camphill

College planning-

• Create a college list based on personal preferences/standards- consider size, location, academic programs, admissions, student life, diversity, institution characteristics, cost, etc.  Include safe schools (those you will most likely be admitted to), target schools, and reach schools.
• Research your chosen schools for the following information:
  • Type of application- Institution Application, Common Application, Coalition Application
  • Application deadlines/plans: Regular Decision, Early Decision, Early Action, Rolling
  •  Admission requirements- testing, essay, recommendation letter(s), etc.
• Visit colleges or do a virtual tour.
• Schedule/complete testing if needed- SAT, ACT, etc.
•  Request letters of recommendation- consider teachers who can speak to who you are currently, and who are most relevant to your choice of study.
• Draft your personal statement/essay- consider what your theme will be.

• Track extracurriculars- activities, volunteer, work experience. Consider your role and the impact you made through these activities.
•  Research financial aid /scholarship options.
• Check Naviance regularly to register for college representative visits at CHHS.

 The counselors will be scheduling meetings with each senior, as well as visiting senior classrooms at the beginning of the school year to help each senior identify goals and an action plan, and also to give more information on completing applications/making requests in Naviance.

HACC Students Certificate of Residency Process: For students who will be attending HACC after high school graduation, below are the steps to obtain a Certificate of Residency:

• The contact person is Ms. Minke Kooistra.
• The process can be handled via email.  The student (or parent) should email Ms. Kooistra at mkooistra@camphillsd.k12.pa.us requesting a Certificate of Residency and provide their HACC ID # and date of birth.
  • If preferred, the process can be done by phone.  Call Mrs. Kooistra at 717-901-2400 x 5943 to provide the same information.
• Once the ID and date of birth have been received, the certificate will be submitted electronically.   It generally takes HACC 24 hours to process.

A Certificate of Residency is not required for current high school students in dual enrollment with HACC.
